Keep on smiling - John Forrest

Got another call from Jim Salmon yesterday. He was the bearer of sad news - John Forrest, a terrific musician from Nanaimo - passed away on Tuesday - he went "Home". John, a bass player and all-round musician, was an integral member of the musical cast for my show "Over The Rainbow" at The Port Theatre in 1999 - he is now himself "Over The Rainbow"... May you be smiling John!

We are all richer with the memories of my cousin John's music; he shared his fabulous gift with all us and I always think of him when I hear the "Baby Elephant Waltz"....xoxo K

Was so glad we could attend the celebration of John's interesting life yesterday. Thank you to everyone who got up an told their stories. I loved Paul Gogo's input. The last song "So Happy Together". Uplifting. Then we had to leave the gather and found ourselves wondering and deciding we needed to go listen to some live music. We went to Arbutus Music where Gerry Barnum was playing and he dedicated most of the songs he played to Blackie and shared a few more moments. Glad we went.
John started NAG (The Nanaimo Accordion Guild) back in the late 90's which Bill was the only other member I do believe. So glad we got to know you John, we'll be missing you xoxo
Love,
Donna and Bill Konsorado
